5 /5 Neil Webb: Just tried drift. in Whitstable and honestly… what a find.
Tucked away on Oxford Street, this tiny little spot already feels like one of those places people will be talking about a lot very soon. It’s small, relaxed, and has that effortless, intimate vibe that makes you want to stay longer than you planned.
The food was seriously impressive — thoughtful, well put together, and full of flavour without trying too hard. You can tell there’s real care behind what’s coming out of the kitchen. It’s the kind of menu where you want to try everything.
Service felt warm and genuine, not over the top — just the right balance that makes the whole experience feel personal rather than polished-for-show.
Whitstable has no shortage of great places to eat, but this feels different. New, exciting, and still under the radar.
If you’re in town, go now — before everyone else catches on.
