4 /5 Kam: This was my first experience with Somali cuisine, and my friends suggested we visit Food Palace. Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated by the friendly staff. However, the cleanliness was not that good, and the presence of only male diners made it feel less family-friendly. We ordered two lamb shanks and a lamb shoulder, accompanied by rice and spaghetti. The meat was incredibly tender, and the seasoning was perfect. I would have liked a bit more fried onion and a spicier chili sauce. Overall, I would definitely recommend dining here.

The seasoning was perfectly balanced, enhancing the natural taste of the lamb without overpowering it. The sauce or juices accompanying the dish were equally impressive—rich, aromatic, and ideal for soaking into the meat and any sides served alongside it. What really stood out was the texture. Slow cooking can make or break a lamb dish, but this one was executed flawlessly, delivering melt-in-the-mouth softness while still maintaining structure and moisture. Overall, this dish was comforting, flavourful, and expertly prepared. I would highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates well-cooked, high-quality lamb. It’s a dish I would gladly return for again.
