5 /5 Vanessa Bridgen: We stopped here for lunch as my husband and I were driving around Portsmouth on a memory lane trip and his mother used to work there back in the 50s and he spent a lot of time there as a child. He was very fond of the place and we were very impressed with the staff and the food, we had steak and it was delicious perfectly cooked and so tender. The atmosphere was amazing as all the Christmas lights and decorations were up . Great car park too .

2 /5 Anne Keen: We had a Christmas meal at The Good Companion yesterday.I had the king prawn cocktail which just had mayo instead of Marie rose sauce which was disappointing, then I had Christmas Dinner which could have been a lot hotter, the pig in blanket was not cooked properly & no broccoli on plate, roast potatoes looked anaemic. The dessert I had was the berry sundae which thankfully was delicious, so one course out of three wasnt great.Music was far too loud & had to ask them to turn it down, so overall not a good experience.

5 /5 Taylor Twardochleb: Had a great time at the Good Companion Pub on New Year’s Eve. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, making it a perfect place to celebrate. The live music really stood out. The female singer was fantastic and added so much to the evening. A really enjoyable night overall, would happily visit again
