5 /5 Tahir Bashir: This was my second visit to Hao Chi Oriental (which used to go by Wan Choi), and honestly, it just keeps delivering.
I went with a simple family order: the chicken nuggets kids meal along with chicken chow mein for my son, and for myself, the crispy BBQ duck with chips. Everything came out super quick seriously, no long wait at all and when it hit the table, the plates were literally steaming hot and smelling amazing. That fresh-off-the-wok vibe is always a good sign.
Hassan was working the front again, and the guys service is spot-on every time. Always got a big smile, super friendly, and happy to chat about the menu or make suggestions if youre not sure what to pick. With a menu thats nicely balanced not some massive overwhelming booklet that leaves you paralyzed, but not so basic that youre stuck with the same old options it hits the sweet spot. Theres plenty there to suit different tastes without feeling complicated.
The food? On point, as always. The chicken chow mein was packed with flavor, nice and saucy without being greasy, and my son demolished it happily. His nuggets were crispy on the outside, tender inside. My crispy BBQ duck was the star for me: that skin had perfect crunch, the meat was juicy and full of that smoky-sweet BBQ goodness, and pairing it with chips made it feel like the ultimate comfort food treat.
Nothing fancy or over-the-top, just consistently solid, tasty Chinese takeaway thats clearly made with care. If youre in the area and want reliable halal-friendly Oriental food that wont disappoint, Id 100% recommend giving Hao Chi Oriental a go you wont regret it!
