5 /5 Liam Smith: I always use reviews to gauge the metric from somewhere this place ticked all the boxes. Chinese place that does fish and chips? CHECK - THEY NEVER MESS THIS UP. Chinese place with a review from someone who is actually from China that calls it authentic? DOUBLE CHECK. Yep, needless to say, I shut my eyes and placed an order for 50 quids worth of food to try as much as possible with my Mum as I lived in Hong Kong years ago and there arent many places that are doing good Cantonese food (because in the UK we are very used to a specific taste with Chinese food so they all do the same thing regardless where they are from, even though most will say theyre from Peking). Absolutely phenomenal find. Xiexie!

4 /5 PH: Excellent fish and chips from Idea Kitchen. Very nice crisp batter on the fish, cooked just right. The chips were great - nice and crisp, thick cut and not greasy, just how they should be. Good sized portions too and freshly cooked to order. The only thing that let the meal down was the mushy peas - they had a strange unexpected and sweet taste to them which I did not enjoy and ended up binning them. Improve the mushy peas and it would be a definite 5 star meal of fish and chips. Highly recommended if you avoid those!

5 /5 Kar Ann Chew: As a Chinese, I dont like Chinese takeaway as they arent real Chinese. But this is different - authentic (Hong Kong, Cantonese style) Chinese food. Plus the usual British Chinese. Reading other review - seems like their fish and chips let them down. Edit: Added photos after a recent order. Edit 2: Ordered Engplant with Minced Pork (魚香茄子) a few times. Found it consistently too salty too strong flavour. Probably too much paste/sauce. @Idea Kitchen, I know restaurant/chef doesnt dont alter recipe for individual customer, but please do consider toning down this dish. Way too salty too strong.

1 /5 F N: I am not a person that always leave a review, I ordered a cheese burger for like 7/8 quid, this is what it looks like. To be honest, just by it looks and how thin it is, I am really disappointed, and there isn’t any sauce or flavour, what I can taste is just the oily texture of the meat. I would not visit again.
