5 /5 Jodi Roscow: This authentic home cooked West Indian food is incredible! Mumma Soraya and Bobby are absolutely wonderful sunshiney people too. So friendly and always happy to see you. Service can be a touch slow but thats because you know Mumma is making sure your order is THE BEST. There is often a bit of a que too but thats how you know its good.
Im happy to wait for as as long as Mumma and Bobby need to get my order together, its always totally delicious.
The Good Golly Miss Molly hot sauce she makes, really is proper hot and tasty. My husband loves it!
Everything is cooked fresh and you can tell!
They are only open at the weekends, serving from a food truck outside The George pub. Mumma Soraya often sells out before 2pm so if you are wanting a large order its best to message her and pre-book it if you can.
They are cash only but you can grab cash if you dont have it from the petrol station just next-door.
In the summer they often team up with the pub and have reggae days with music and sunshine.
The pub dont mind you getting your food and sitting in their garden to eat it and its the perfect excuse to get a pint of red stripe in to go with your delicious West Indian dinner.
I would recommend this place to absolutely everyone, as long as they eat meat as there are no veggi or vegan options apart from the rice. But you always get a big portion of rice and meat and a homemade colslaw to boot all for under £10.
Mumma and Bobby only tend to have 2 choices of dish on each day but sometimes also have fritters, patties and crumble for pudding on offer. It changes each week so the best thing to do is find her on Facebook and follow her to see what shes cooking up next. Her food is loved by all of our family including the kids. We will come back for more every time.
Totally yummers 10/10
