5 /5 Gregory Boyd: I have visited this pub a few times over the last two years. Great food and even better service. The wait staff and bartenders were always very courteous and helpful. I have not had a bad meal nor a pint that disappointed. We also attended the trivia night as well and had the best time. The outdoor seating is a bonus!

5 /5 Scoods: Visiting The Black Lion for the first time, I was initially sceptical about whether the food would live up to the glowing reviews. After trying the Sunday roast, I can confidently say it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The lamb was full of flavour, the portion was generous, and it was excellent value for money. Although the fish was unavailable, Hannah was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable and was able to recommend an alternative dish, which was thoroughly enjoyed. Dessert took it to another level and was the perfect finish to the meal. The atmosphere and food were outstanding, but it was the service that truly set the experience apart. We’re already planning our return — thank you!

5 /5 Kelly Thomas: Absolutely stunning pub with an amazing athosphere. Booked for a group Christmas work event on a Friday night so had the pleasure of having live entertainment, which was so good and took the atmosphere to another level! Jose and team were attentive from our initial enquiry right through to when we left in the evening. We had a specialised menu to cater for all our needs, which tasted great, was a very generous portion and worth the money. Definitely 10/10! The table decorations and the attention to detail made it a special, festive evening. This was my first experience and I will most definitely be returning!

5 /5 Darren Nelson: As a lifelong resident of West Hampstead, The Black Lion was my first local pub I started drinking and sociolising in over 2 decades ago. I have seen my favourite bar evolve through at least 5 complete refurbishments over the past over 20 years and each time it gets better as it has continued to move with the trends while at the same time holding on to the same welcoming and exciting vibe that it always had from the time I had my first pint in the establishment probably in 2001 when I was 18 years old and working my first adult job in Dominos Pizza across the road. The staff have always been amazing but at this current time in 2026 I can honestly say that The Black Lion Pub has reached its all time peak in terms of weekend entertainment (amazing live bands), customer involvement (Wednesday Rockeoke), and making regulars like myself feel appreciated by having weekly happy hours. I come to The Black Lion after work for a cheeky pint to unwind with and even if my mates arent in the pub I always know I can have a good and proper friendly chat with the bar staff. Add to all of that, the football, rugby, and any other sport is guaranteed to be showing on at least 5 screens. There is no competition. The Black Lion is the very best pub in West Hampstead!!
