The staff went above and beyond to help us create the day we wanted. The food was amazing all our guests commented on the steak. The bar staff were amazing and could handle the amount of baby Guinnesss that were ordered on the night and thats no mean feat! If youre planning a pub wedding wed highly recommend Victoria Stakes. Jezza I stumbled upon Peony Star by chance, and I was blown away by both the quality of the food and the exceptional service. The staff were an absolute delight, and the food was nothing short of outstanding. Although I was not sure what to expect at first, just a few bites were enough to win me over completely. Even something as simple as the egg fried rice was exquisite. I started with the dim sum assortment, which was beautifully made and full of flavour. Our lovely server kindly explained each piece to us, making the experience even more enjoyable. For mains, we ordered: Cantonese roasted duck Yeung Chow fried rice Honey roast pork Sichuan chilli crispy king prawn Egg fried rice with spring onion Not a single dish disappointed; they were all perfectly curated and bursting with flavour. My personal favourites were the dumplings and the honey roast pork, both of which stood out for their depth of taste and flawless execution. Between the warm and attentive service, the elegant décor, and the phenomenal food, Peony Star truly stands out. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu and enjoy another memorable dining experience. A must-visit! Quite possibly one of the finest Cantonese restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. Compliments to the chefs!!!

Vinicius Santos A Well-Executed Pre-Theatre Experience at Cora Pearl The décor is relaxed and intimate, complemented by soft background music that creates a warm, understated atmosphere. Expectations were high, especially as Cora Pearl has been ranked by the Michelin Guide as the best pre-theatre dining spot in London. We visited as a family of four and arrived about ten minutes before our pre-theatre reservation; our table was already ready, which was a great start. My parents both chose the three-course pre-theatre menu: potatoes with cod roe to start, pork steak for the main, and the After Eight crémeux for dessert. I had the butternut squash with coconut cream as a starter—the cream was thicker than I expected, but still very rich and delicious—followed by the wild sea bass with Jerusalem artichoke velouté, salsify, and bergamot. Overall, the food was excellent: well executed, well balanced, and thoughtfully put together. We shared a bottle of Riesling and I ordered the Cheeky Peach cocktail, as the restaurant is known for its cocktails. Both were enjoyable, though not particularly memorable. The Parmesan fries, however, were outstanding and easily a highlight of the meal. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout, although service did slow down a little during busier moments. That said, it didn’t detract significantly from an otherwise very enjoyable pre-theatre experience.
