4 /5 Kat Mac: We had Afternoon Tea here, table and venue was lovely but the afternoon tea was a little disappointing. We have been here before (last Christmas) hence why we decided to return but sadly it did not meet our expectations. Scones were lovely and fresh, sandwiches tasty but cakes a little underwhelming. Had to chase down the waitress a couple of times too which was disappointing also.
5 /5 ashley W: We had a lovely lunch at the royal. It was a place I have always wanted to go and it did not disappoint. It’s like stepping back in time. Lovely large dining hall with ample seating and enough tables for a vibrant yet chilled afternoon lunch. The food was superb. The Sunday roast was just perfect. Again the staff were so good well presented and extremely polite and friendly. It was a perfect afternoons lunch. Well done we will return.
2 /5 Martin Smith: Food was excellent 5 stars.
Service was poor, complaints werent dealt with.
Room was very dated and tired.
We chose this hotel as a dog friendly hotel. Despite them stating that if your dog can come with you at meal time and you eat in a conservatory you are actually seated in reception. Also there are no provisions for disposing of poo bags in the hotel grounds after picking up after your dog.
As a smoker having to go outside to smoke there is also no where to dispose of cigarette.
Parking is also an issue!
Definitely NOT a 4 star hotel.
5 /5 Amy Welsh: Took my mum here for the afternoon tea and it was lovely! The views over the sea are gorgeous and every part of the tea was delicious. The scones were still hot and there was *plenty* of cream and jam (saves the argument of someone using too much!) staff were also great and very accommodating. We would definitely recommend this place to all - though we didnt see the rooms, the decor throughout reception/bar/dining area hints that theyd be very pretty and comfortable
3 /5 Andrew A Blue Wizard: Furniture in the rooms felt cheap. Though lovely staff, I had to tell reception that my bath tub had not been cleaned since last occupier as there was hairs all over the bottom. Although they cleaned it, it would of been nice to have a fully clean room expected of a 4 star hotel. Nice breakfast but my room window was directly on the road and had people walking past - not particularly the nice view I was hoping for. Felt that there was no ventilation in the hallway and that was obvious as it just smelt like human sweat everytime I walked from my room to reception.
Sam Palmer Genuinely a diamond find - the aesthetic, service, and food were incredible. Cost was reasonable and I’ll definitely be back, I’m so impressed
David Woodger The Astor Grill has a very friendly and relaxing atmosphere. The food is excellent in taste and quality. What a surprise we had when a little birthday cake with a candle, and handwritten card arrived at the table for my wife. Excellent, and I recommend a meal here
Max I had dinner at an amazing pizzeria, and I have to say this is the best pizza in London. With its unique recipe, it’s a true gem for pizza lovers. I arrived just before closing, and the owner, with incredible skill, crafted a delicious pizza in just seven minutes. An unforgettable experience!
Bhekani D Maseko Absolutely tasty African cuisine. I really enjoyed the food I got from Afro Cabbana - the pap was particularly well made. I recommend this eatery unreservedly.
Pcacton675 You could have been in a small cafe in Italy inside! Superb food and friendly happy staff. And the smell of the pinsa and dough baking was amazing. Really good authentic Italian Pinsa and a delicious variety on the menu. Awesome decor.
A great find and dont hesitate to drop in, Im sure you wont be disappointed.
Nice one .
