Holly Bazley Although they offer a lot and could condense the menu into the best items, the service and kindness of staff is amazing and delicious salad selection. It’s nice to have staff that really care about the service and want to make sure the customer is happy and satisfied:)

ELI I am so pleased I have just discovered this place! The food is great and affordable. I had the sweetest waiter who was very attentive and well mannered. I ordered the traditional carbonara (made with egg sauce) and tiramisu. Everything was so fresh, yet I didn’t wait long for my food. The portions were good, and the presentation was beautiful. The decor and atmosphere is so nice and relaxing. I came around 5 pm on a weekday and it was quiet. The waiter recommended I get the truffle pasta, so I will be back next week to try it.

Mark Monaghan Some dishes were very nice (mainly the bread and leek starters). However, some others, mainly the Denver steak main, were quite disappointing, especially when considering this costs just shy of £50. The dish took about an hour to arrive and was cold when it did (I assume it had been left out and perhaps a waiter had forgotten to take it to us). The waiter did offer to reheat it but this left it quite chewy. Overall it was not enjoyable and certainly did not meet the standard expected for the price. The service was also very slow throughout the remainder of the night and after ordering a single rice pudding dessert to share, this also took an additional 30 minutes to arrive. We spent another 15 minutes waiting for the waiter to bring the card machine after receiving the bill meaning in total we spent about 3 hours in the restaurant which was much longer than we had intended. I appreciate it was New Year’s Eve and so perhaps it was busier than the staff were used to, but again, this falls short of the standard one would expect for a restaurant where we paid around £90 per person on food alone. The atmosphere was pleasant but given the above I would not return nor could I in good conscience recommend it to a friend.

Dean Kelly Working locally I asked for recommendations for a decent pub to get dinner. It was suggested I come in the Queens Head. I’m so pleased I did. I had a mixed grill and not a single item was less than perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was good, quite busy. I believe it’s steak night. Seems a really popular place with locals. Only downside is the car park is a bit tight. But with a number plate registration system at the bar you can’t really knock a star off just for that.
