5 /5 Shelley C: It is a beautiful, atmospheric cemetery. The area has been left to go wild. There was nonstop birdsong throughout my walk. Sensible shoes are necessary as it can get very muddy and some areas were slippery. It had rained, and there were deep puddles that stretched across the path. There are lots of smaller paths that wander off into the woods. It is not advisable to leave the pathways as some of the grave areas are unsafe. Pushchairs could be used throughout the main paths of the site. Wheelchairs could be used on most of the main paths. A few were steep and would be difficult to get up, particularly after rain. There are no toilets in the cemetery.

5 /5 Ernesto Santibanez: Victorian cemetery left for nature to take over - The abandoned chapel, victorian graves and overall nature create a very special atmosphere where locals walk their dogs and exercise. It has a similar feeling to Highgates cemetery. There are occasional art installations in the old chapel.

Occasionally, I have run into talks and art installations taking place especially in the old chapel. A dog walkers paradise in South London - or, in fact, any walker.
