Bao Bao - (Near Croydon, South East)

4 /5 Serene Shan: Enjoyed a meal at bao bao, was a bit disappointed to find the menu online was different in the restaurant and some missing items. But nonetheless we ordered edamame, Taiwanese fried chicken nuggets which were hot and delicious, chicken fried bao, pork belly bao and mushroom bao. There was a generous amount of filling in each bao, the mushroom bao lacked flavour for me, but everything else was good. Solid 8/10 I will be back and I highly recommend this place.

5 /5 Millie D: BOA BOA in Boxpark Croydon is a fantastic spot if you’re looking for great food and refreshing bubble tea. The chicken katsu curry is especially delicious — full of flavour and always satisfying. They also offer a great lunch deal, where selected mains come with a regular-sized bubble tea, which makes it really good value. Their bubble tea is some of the best I’ve had. My personal favourite is the taro milk with tapioca, which is delicious with or without coconut jelly. Other great combinations include mango milk with mango or passionfruit popping boba (which also works well with mango or coconut jelly), as well as honeydew with apple popping boba and kiwi with peach popping boba — all really refreshing. The service is great too. On a few occasions when buying around five bubble teas, they kindly added a complimentary one on the house, which was a lovely surprise. Great food, fantastic drinks, good value and friendly service — definitely worth visiting if you’re at Boxpark Croydon.

5 /5 Cc C: I love this place, definitely gained a new regular :) Food was amazing, very generous prices and super filling too! The winner is definitely the sweet potato fries, it’s so perfectly seasoned with plum seasoning and the crunch is amazing while not being too oily !! The mushroom teriyaki with steamed rice is so light yet filling, one of my favourite dishes now~ The staff were super kind, service is quick and great as well. They had a Lunar New Year deal where if you spent more than £60 you get a free jug of flavoured tea to share, and even though that promotion was only until the 22/2, she still gave us a free jug when we visited on the 25/2. Thank you so much, we will most have a weekly visit here now lol.

5 /5 Steph C: Really nice Taiwanese spot! The beef noodle soup was rich and flavorful, and the chicken rice was delicious. The staff are polite and the food comes out quickly. Also tried the matcha bubble milk tea - ordered no sugar but it was still a little sweet for me.
