Elmer Cafe & Tapas Bar - (Near , South East)

5 /5 Vicky Harris: Went today,bathe service and the food were excellent and great value. My husband had a bad turn at the counter and the young waitress sat him down and another alerted me. We managed to get home but thank you for the concern shown and help offered it was much appreciated!

3 /5 Jeanette Longhurst: The food and drinks were good and staff polite and friendly. Unfortunately, we waited 25 minutes for the drinks to be served and another 25 minutes for the food. Pretty slow service.

5 /5 Victoria Hardy: Ive been popping in regularly over the last month, to enjoy a cuppa & breakfast/snack whilst having a spot to work outside of the house. Im always greeted politely and the staff are friendly - and the waitress even remembers my usual order (unless I go for a change!). Ive been in when its quiet and also on busy Saturdays and as expected the wait times go from, food and drink being served exceptionally quickly to having to wait a small time as they manage other customers. I love how they support local artists - with various art on show that can be purchased. The decor is simple yet clean and tidy and the food and drinks are reasonably priced. Newly taken over, the team are experimenting with new ideas and seeing what works for this small village, they won;t get everything right, but from my interactions, i would presume theyre open to feedback and ideas and always looking to improve customer experience. Dogs welcome too in certain parts of the cafe!

1 /5 Brooke: This place really needs improvement / more staff. Sat there for 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged. She took our order and made us aware the drinks might take a while, we said okay we’re happy to wait. 25 minutes later and no food or drinks. Looked like the service was taking ages for everyone in there. Tables weren’t being cleared, drinks were being brought out 1 at a time for other tables. Wouldn’t return after such a poor experience which is a shame as always happy to visit a new place.

1 /5 S A: I was so looking forward to trying the new cafe in our home village of Elmer. We went on day two of opening. Decor was great, staff very friendly. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed to find a long black hair on top of my smoked salmon breakfast. I did report it to a member of the staff who told me she would inform the chef. Which I understand she did. I had no direct apology. I was told the kitchen staff all wear hair nets which did please me in a way. I did eat all the breakfast. Wish I hadn’t. No real apology and no discount was offered. I decided to not say anything as the cafe was quite busy and I didn’t want to make a fuss. My husband and I decided to give the cafe another chance and went there New Year’s Day with two of our friends that were staying with us. Unfortunately and unbelievably again the same experience happened. I did take a look at the kitchen staff and it was very clear they were not wearing hair nets. To experience this situation twice has clearly put me off going back to the cafe in the future. Such a shame as my husband and I wanted to be regulars and support the local business. Elmer Cafe, I do hope you learn from this.
