5 /5 Holly Velvick: Just had a delicious meal at the Hand & Sceptre. Great atmosphere, lots of choice on the menu and very attentive, friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. I can highly recommend the halloumi fries and rotisserie chicken, everyone said their meal was lovely and hot with lots of flavour. We will be back.

5 /5 Mansa Jehu-Appiah: FIVE STARS! Came in for drinks last Tuesday and had a great experience. Holly and Lyndon were absolutely amazing! They don’t usually work there, but you’d never know it they were so friendly, attentive, and made the whole evening really enjoyable. They were also incredibly professional the whole time, which really stood out. The service was unbelievable and they went above and beyond to make sure everyone was looked after. It’s always the people that make a place special, and Holly and Lyndon definitely did that. Really good atmosphere and fantastic service!!!!

5 /5 Ellie Smith: Stopped in for lunch and a couple of drinks and had a great time. The food was lovely, generous portions, hot, and full of flavour. Drinks were reasonably priced with a good selection. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the staff were friendly without being overbearing. Perfect spot for an easy lunch and a catch-up over drinks. Thank you to Maia, Chardonnai, Jasmine, Aimee and Vito all very welcoming and we will 100% be back.

5 /5 stan miles abbott: Pulled in on a long journey for a last minute bite, lovely food and great atmosphere. Vito the host took out of my driving slump, very funny, charming and accommodating when we wanted to move from the bar to the restaurant; after we had ordered. Will be back again.

3 /5 Su Bellingham: Had Christmas lunch here on a couple of occasions and thoroughly enjoyed it but sadly this year found it very disappointing. Had to ask for vegetables for main course to be heated up and felt portion size for 2 people was a lot smaller than previous years. Dinner plate was very hot but turkey and potatoes only warm and therefore that had to be sent back for reheating as well (yorkshire pudding, as a result was like cardboard). However, Christmas pudding delightful. Asked for coffee to finish, specifically a hot one. Unfortunately after a couple of failed attempts by staff to provide a hot coffee, decided to go home and make our own. Staff were friendly and quick to try and help but would not wish to return for Christmas Dinner again and would not recommend. Service and drinks charge were waived which is appreciated but not the Christmas meal we had hoped for. Also received notification that table was ours for 2.5hours but they would only hold it for 15 minutes if we were late. Understand that you are busy, have four courses to serve with a little time between each. May have been a little more polite to say if you were later than 15 minutes there was a possibility that you would not have time to serve all courses. If you are a large group the 10% service charge could add quite a hefty sum to the bill.
