5 /5 Ayla Smith: A staple of the community. Market Cafe is one of those places that truly gets everything right. The service is consistently top tier — warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming.
I’m always a little hesitant now that we’re travelling with our four-month-old baba into social settings. Not all London restaurants are accommodating when it comes to little ones, but these guys get it right every single time. The demographic of the cafe is a testament to that.
People meeting parents. People on dates. People with babies. Girls’ lunches that have started with their first Prosecco. It’s all here at Market Cafe. They cater to the community in a way that feels genuinely unique — and uniquely Hackney.
The menu is varied, the quality of the food is outstanding, and the price point is incredibly reasonable for the area. And if you’re into a boozy brunch, their cocktails are delicious.
The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it a true neighbourhood favourite and a key part of Broadway Market and London Fields. Couldn’t recommend it more.
