5 /5 Damey8679: Went for a few drinks in the bar area which was a lovely atmosphere, very cosy. Then we went and sat in the restaurant area for food. We know Cheffie from the Farmers, so knew the food would be amazing and he didnt disappoint. The pork belly with dauphinoise potatoes on the specials was incredible. Starters and desserts were delicious also. In addition the staff were so lovely and friendly and made us feel so welcome. Shout out to Lucy. Will definitely be going back soon.
5 /5 Jon Snidle: We loved this pub. Mel (the landlady) was amazing. We pulled up in our camper thinking we were staying for one drink, and ended up staying for way more than we planned, and stayed the night in the carpark. She could not have been more welcoming. Dog came too.
5 /5 Dean Phillips: Stopped in after a day out and had a fantastic steak and chips with garlic mushrooms and a pinte of beer. Everything was cooked beautifully and full of flavour. The staff were warm and welcoming. Would happily go back again.
Ben Davies I arranged a private lunch for 20 guests and it couldn’t have gone better. From the first enquiry, the team were organised, responsive, and incredibly helpful with all the planning details.
On the day, the room looked lovely, the service ran smoothly, and the food was absolutely delicious fresh, seasonal, and great value. My guests were so impressed. A big thank you to the whole team, especially Meghan, for making it such a success.
Oliver Barnes The best Kombucha youll taste. Really creative and well flavoured products, I signed up to the monthly subscription after tasting. Lovely ethos behind the company too. Brilliant all round.
Matt Hobbs Went for Sunday lunch at short notice today. Excellent service with nice cosy roaring open fire with relaxed country ambiance. Picture postcard quaint Sussex village setting. Good value Sunday roasts generously portioned with nice selection of sides. Recommended.
Jamie Stewart Everything you would expect from a Sussex village pub. Good food, quaint interior, and friendly locals. Nice large beer garden.
Visited on Saturday lunch time. Called in the late morning to book a table. Was told, no need they won’t be busy. Plus they don’t take bookings. Got there to discover the place was packed, inside and out! (Maybe they should consider bookings for inside table, if that is an important for some customers). As it was the weather was nice, so sitting in the beer garden was nice.
The food was excellent. Tasty steak and kidney pie. Good seafood salad. Very reasonable prices.
Only marked down the service because the actual bar inside is small, and on a busy day it took a while to be served. But the service was friendly.
Will definitely be back. Maybe on a week day!
