Thirty Nine Whitstable - (Near Kent, South East)

5 /5 Jenny B: This is a creative, welcoming restaurant with a talented chef. I visited Whitstable with two good friends and visiting 39 (or Laurens as I prefer to call it) was one of our highlights. Whitstable is already a place worth celebrating for its pretty scenery, clear blue sea and independent shops, and this place was a hidden gem - though not so hidden as we found it through good Google reviews! We were very kindly welcomed by Fairlie and Roy and enjoyed the cocktails, with Head Chef Laurens Lemon Drop being the winner! The food was a delicious fusion of flavours! We found that five of the small plates shared by three of us was filling enough that we didnt ask for a desert. I would recommend giving 39/Laurens a try for its food, creative gallery feel and friendly ambience and if Roy is there he will happily tell you about the local area so do ask him!

5 /5 Nabeel Najeeb: Absolutely lovely place. The staff, of whom the only name I was able to catch being Ethan, are genuinely such great people. We’d ordered a hot chocolate, and me and my partner being visibly Muslim, they came forward and suggested an add on to the drink that was halal and free of gelatin. The hot chocolate was perfect too, love the bits of fudge in there as well. Great cozy place, even greater people; will always recommend! Thank you guys for having us ❤️

5 /5 Anne Martin: Came across this place on walk back to our Airbnb. It was completely empty and we debated going in but we werent disappointed. The staff were lovely and we had a nice meal of gyozas , short rib croquettes, crispy cauliflower bites ,squid and Asian slaw. Reasonably priced drinks. I would definitely eat there again !

5 /5 Jade Kent: Came here for my partners birthday and the lovely staff treated us with so much kindness! We were kindly greeted with a birthday note on the table and had the most delicious food (highly recommend the Korean bbq burger & katsu chicken burger). Lauren and her dad are the sweetest people who were generous and friendly, taking time to sit and talk to us throughout the evening. We had some complimentary cake and were sung happy birthday which was a lovely touch! We are already planning our next visit!
