5 /5 j: Honestly the food was amazing probably the best grill i’ve had in ages. Everything was really freshly made, meats were super flavourful and authentic and the service was amazing. All the staff were welcoming from the moment you walk in and very hospitable and accommodating especially Lakshika. Overall the atmosphere as well was really nice, great interior and good vibes 10/10 would recommend and I will definitely come back again with my family. Thank you for your service!!!

5 /5 Woodford Care Limited: Absolutely amazing evening! Khalid and his staff made our family event a complete success from start to finish. He had complete control of the event at all times. Attentive service, going above and beyond and ensuring not one cup was empty and no guest left unsatisfied. Just absolutely brilliant. Food was so fresh and aromatic, packed with variety and flavour and really generous portions. The restaurant itself it is really well situated and comfortable, with elegant, on trend decor. We’re so impressed and will definitely be coming back for our future events.

3 /5 Mariya B: Went to Wah Bay for dinner with my family – two adults and three children (youngest is 8). The restaurant has a downstairs seating area, and we were seated downstairs. The décor there is nice and stylish. We arrived at 7:30pm and ordered our food at 7:50pm. The restaurant was extremely busy due to the 50% off January 2026 offer, which likely contributed to the delays. Our starters (samosa chaat and chicken pakoras) and the kids’ meals didn’t arrive until 8:30pm, which was quite a long wait with children. No ketchup, sauces or salt and pepper on the table . The samosa chaat was okay, but I’ve definitely had better elsewhere. The chicken pakoras were really yummy though, probably the highlight of the meal. By the time my biryani arrived at 9:00pm (see pic), I was extremely hungry and just tucked straight in. Unfortunately, the butter chicken and achar gosht arrived even later at around 9:25pm, after the biryani had already been finished. I did feel sorry for the waiter, who looked very stressed with everyone constantly asking when their food would arrive. The people on the table next to us actually left because the wait was so long. There were a lot of people complaining about food arriving late, so this didn’t feel like an isolated issue. Overall, the food was decent but the long waiting times really let the experience down. With better organisation during busy promotional periods, this place could be much better

The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere and a beautifully designed interior — stylish, modern, and thoughtfully put together. It’s the perfect mix of comfort and class, making it just as suitable for a casual meal as it is for a special evening out. The menu offers a great variety of South East Asian dishes, and everything we tried was packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. You can really taste the freshness of the ingredients and the balance of spices — authentic yet approachable for all palates. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The team clearly takes pride in what they do, and it shows in both the food and the overall experience. Pricing is very reasonable for the quality you get. Portions are generous, and the presentation is excellent — great value for money overall. If you’re looking for a restaurant in Gants Hill that offers delicious South East Asian cuisine in a lovely setting, Wah Bay is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

5 /5 Ibrahim Ahmed: Wah Bey in Ilford is a real treat! From the moment I walked in, the service was top-notch – attentive and friendly. But the real stars of the show were the dishes. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, the lamb chops were perfectly grilled and succulent, and the lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavour. Every dish was incredibly tasty. Id highly recommend Wah Bey to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal in Ilford.
