Ye Olde Ship Inn - (Near Surrey, South East)

5 /5 AussieIslander: This is a lovely old pub just outside the centre of Guildford. If youre walking on the Pilgrims’ Way, this is a great place to stop and refuel. Its a short walk to St Catherines Chapel. Alternatively, weve done round-trip walks from here to Watts Gallery in one direction, and St Marthas Church in the other. Both make for good day walks from the pub. The pizzas are huge and perfect for sharing. Good coffee, too. Id reserve a table if you can as it tends to get busy.

4 /5 David Collins: I have had many people tell me to try this pub for their food. Initially I was put off by the price of the pizzas however when you relate the price to an equivalent takeaway, it is actually good value for money given they use quality ingredients. I marked it down a star is the pizza crust is rather too crusty. I bought the garlic butter to go with the crust and a finisher, but the crust was too hard to enjoy. The rest of the pizza was lovely - good choice of ingredients on the standard menu and a decent size portion. Service was great. The staff are really nice. Big big win that the receipt is split into sections too so you can easily find the food and drinks separately.

5 /5 kevin williams: My car was in for a service and I had time to kill in Guildford for a few hours. Went for a walk to St Catherines Chapel and came across Ye Olde Ship Inn so popped in for a pint. Ended up having a couple and one of their fantastic pizzas. The pub is a delight, full of character and old world charm without TV screens and video games. Staff were great, good selection of draught beers and fantastic food. Well worth a visit. I will return with friends. Be advised they do not open Mondays or Tuesdays.

5 /5 Matt Rehm: Monsterous, delicious, fantastic pizzas. Cosy old pub specialising in proper pizza. They are fresh, they make the dough here and are nice and thin. I couldnt finish mine, and Im greedy. Nice to see a pub specialising in pizza when there are so many other pubs in the area serving traditional pub food.

Pub well deserved its reputation.. staff were lovely and prompt even tho pub was busy.. book a table if you can to ensure you get one.. they were turning away people .. also only pizzas now on menu.. check their website for current menu rather than going off Google photos
