5 /5 Hannah Bennett: A fascinating underground tunnel, the exact history of which is lost to time but believed to be the castle’s Barons wine cellar! Open days run by the Wealden Cave and Mine Society, a super friendly bunch of active explorers with super knowledgeable and friendly guides who will show you all the interesting bits, like cheeky old graffiti or the oldest date on the wall. Nice large passage and always close to surface so not claustrophobic. A few steps underground but flat steps and there us a hand rail in most parts. Great for all the fanily!
