4 /5 Nicola: We recently visited The Jolly Gardener in Lambeth, and overall, I had a really pleasant experience. From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and professional without being overbearing. The staff were more than happy to answer questions about the menu and make great recommendations, which really helped us feel welcomed and relaxed.
The atmosphere of the pub strikes a lovely balance between lively and cozy.
Its clearly a popular spot with locals, and I can see why. The decor has a nice mix of traditional charm and modern touches, giving it a warm and inviting feel. We sat in the garden area for part of the evening, which was a real bonus—perfect for a summer night.
As for the food, it was solid pub fare with a bit of a twist, done well. No fish and chips here, though!
I wouldnt say it blew me away, but everything was fresh and well-prepared. The drinks menu was extensive with a good selection of beers, ales, and cocktails.
All in all, I’d definitely recommend The Jolly Gardener. With its great service and welcoming vibe, its a place Id be happy to return to.
