5 /5 Mama Piini: Vivian and I had the absolute joy of enjoying Christmas Eve dinner at Caldesi in Campagna, and I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were wrapped in the warmest, coziest, most welcoming atmosphere—exactly what you hope for on a special holiday evening.
Caldesi in Campagna is truly the definition of a family-run gem. The family doesn’t just own the restaurant—they are there, working, welcoming, and sharing their passion with every guest. We were greeted by one of the sons as our host, who made us feel immediately at home, and throughout the evening we had the pleasure of meeting the entire family. It felt less like dining out and more like being invited into someone’s home for Christmas Eve.
We were seated next to members of the family themselves, who were also enjoying their own Christmas Eve dinner, which made the experience even more special and authentic. The sense of togetherness, warmth, and genuine hospitality was palpable—it’s rare and incredibly special.
The service was absolutely impeccable: attentive, friendly, and thoughtful without ever feeling rushed. And the food… simply superb. Every dish was beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and clearly made with love and pride. This is Italian cooking at its finest—comforting, elegant, and deeply satisfying.
