Doug Neilson Old corner pub with rather spartan interior. Nice, fairly short, menu of starters, mains and puddings. Very good service. Small portions and rather expensive for what you get, but a good visit for us.
4 /5 Adam Tobin: Really nice location, sat right next to a little stream. This will be a fantastic spot in the summer. Service is brilliant, by far some of the nicest service Ive received in a hospitality setting, everyone is super friendly, happy to chat and really know their stuff. The food is what it is, its not bad by any stretch of the imagination, its just... You get what you pay for. The atmosphere was good, we went at lunch time so a few people there, not too loud, not too quiet. This is a proper pub, like one you remember from your youth. You go with your mates, play some pool, have a few beers with some awesome staff chipping in with a joke or two and making you feel really welcome. I PERSONALLY wouldnt eat here, again, its not "bad", its just, as I said, you get what you pay for. Very middle of the road, very vanilla. Service though is really really good. Genuinely cannot fault it at all. The management team have really done well with their recruitment and training with the team on the floor. This place really reminds me of pubs 25/35yrs ago, the "Cheers" pubs, everyone having a good time, behind the bar and in front of the bar.
