pete turner First visit on a wet Tuesday lunchtime in January. We sat at a table by the log fire, rather than the formal restaurant area. Place felt warm and welcoming , with friendly and efficient staff. Food was excellent , I had the scallops with tomato ragu and the bouillabaisse. Portions werent large but both were very good. Will return.

Jamie Roberts We’ve been driving past ChefCheer for weeks and finally decided to give it a go one Sunday evening. The restaurant was very quiet and its relatively small inside. Decor and music made us feel like we’re back home in Egypt. This Iraqi/Persian food is so so good. Really generous portions and super tasty. We were given a complimentary bowl of lentil soup, which I would 100% go back for! The lamb kozi just melted in your mouth and the mixed grill was delicious. The only disappointment was the okra stew which was a little slimey. There looked like there’s a large table toward the back but otherwise tables are for 2-4 people. If you’re a big group I would recommend booking. We need to give this local restaurant some love! We can’t wait to go back and try some of the other dishes.

Asad Aslam We celebrated my dad’s 60th at Masala Hut, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was top-notch, especially the lamb kebabs and chicken curry, which everyone loved. The atmosphere was warm and full of character, and the cassette display added a great nostalgic touch that guests couldn’t stop talking about. It made the place feel unique and memorable. Huge thanks to the team for helping make the night so special. Highly recommend for any celebration or a great meal out!

David Stroud Breakfast was amazing this is the second time we have been there and the chef is very friendly. Lots of food big portions and cooked just right. The black pudding was nice and soft as some people cook it like it’s cardboard. The coffee is Nescafé and the beans are top notch. Well done keep up the good work and we will definitely be back. Annie Gentil-Kraatz We just had our Christmas dinner in Cha Louis and had a really good time. Food and drinks were good. The menu was quite short but food was delicious. Most dishes required a side dish apart from the Pad Thais. It has been stylishly refurbished and the atmosphere was lovely (Christmas music and warm conversations). Our waiters were friendly and especially Sophie. We will definitely go back.
