The Bridge Restaurant -

JoĆ£o LeitĆ£o I visited The Bridge Restaurant during a busy period at the WTM 2024 at Excel London, so the whole area was understandably bustling. Despite the crowd, I was impressed with how smoothly things went at this restaurant. Although there was a bit of a hiccup with the booking system, which meant we had to go up to the counter to pay, the wait wasn’t too long, and the staff handled it well. The environment was a bit hectic, as you’d expect with so many people around, but the staff stayed calm, friendly, and attentive, which really made a difference. They managed to keep things professional and welcoming, even under pressure—a big plus for any busy event. As for the food, we tried a range of dishes over a couple of visits, including fish and chips and steak, and each time the quality was excellent. The flavors were consistent, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The prices felt fair, especially considering the quality. Overall, The Bridge Restaurant managed to deliver both good food and friendly service in a high-pressure setting. It’s worth a visit if you’re at Excel, even during busy events.

G Bernie Went for a festive afternoon tea. Except Turkey and cranberry im not sure why it was festive. The afternoon tea was okay, cakes are pre made, sandwiches a little dry. Coffee was nice but there was clearly not enough staff on to cope with the Christmas rush. Poor staff that were on were overworked and trying their best.

Ettas Kitchen - Lambeth

patrick jacobs Oh wow, wow, wow, what a fantastic place and what a fantastic owner and what fantastic food, I really can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. The greeting as we walked in was as if we were family coming around for dinner. I saw this place on Tik Tok and decided to take my daughter on a father daughter lunch date. We met at Brixton underground station and took the short walk to Etta’s Seafood Kitchen, don’t get me wrong it can be hard to find, but ask anyone once you get into the village and they will direct you. She’s been there for seventeen years so it’s well established. The strange thing is I only discovered it a day ago. Make this part of your day out because there is so much shopping you can do in the village. Ok so I was lucky because I had my daughter with me to confirm that the food was great, the inside of the restaurant is very eclectic and homely you literally feel as if you are in someone’s home and they are cooking just for you. I really wanted to treat my daughter so we went for the platter and ooohh it was so nice, it took a while but the food was being cooked fresh so the wait made sense. Don’t go there if you are in a hurry this is not a fast food joint, just make sure you have time to take in the atmosphere and enjoy the experience. The seating inside is decent and seating outside feels like you are inside because its covered, don’t be surprised if you turn up and its full, I can imagine that it could be based on everything I’ve said. While we were there the customers who came seemed as if they were regulars which is really reassuring. Back to the food, the platter is shown on my photos, its served with a glass of wine, I gave that to my daughter, somehow they noticed that and sent out a second glass, that was such a lovely touch. On the platter we had, calamari, crab legs, fried plantain, fried cod, prawns, little dumplings, akee and salt fish, and some great sauces. We also ordered the pepper prawns and mac & cheese, which was cheesy and creamy at the same time. Etta tries not to cook with too much pepper so if you want it with a kick just ask. We had a fantastic experience, because to our delight Etta took a break and sat with us and told us her story. She started with just ten pounds, ā€œincredible and inspiringā€ now seventeen years later, here she still is. The food is well cooked and full of flavour and the atmosphere is truly homely and comfortable. Both my daughter and I loved every fork-full and will be back and will be sending as many people as possible to support this unique and exceptional independent fish restaurant. I will be back for sure and I know i will be greeted like a friend coming for dinner.

Jubair Ahmed Me and my friends was so impressed by the quality and authenticity of the food here. The chicken tikka masala was absolutely delicious, rich, flavourful, and perfectly balanced, without that overpowering use of food colouring you often see elsewhere. You can really taste the freshness and the care that goes into every dish. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Easily one of the best Indian dining experiences I’ve had, can’t recommend it highly enough!
