Sophie Krug Lovely restaurant with a diverse menu. Everything we ordered was delicious (tofu, bao buns, salt and pepper squid, lemongrass pork chop and dan dan noodles). Staff were friendly. Make sure to book ahead as it’s a small restaurant

Nichole J. This place is absolutely charming. I’m a sucker for unique decor and green color (and anything velvet)! You get that, and great food, friendly service, and pretty cool music too.

Advanced Print Services We came to this restaurant spur of the moment after reading lots of recommendations on Facebook, the owner was so friendly and welcoming and inviting. The food was absolutely delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed everything we had and really enjoyed chatting with the owner and we will definitely be back. I would recommend phoning and booking a table or letting them know you are going.

Holly Velvick Just had a delicious meal at the Hand & Sceptre. Great atmosphere, lots of choice on the menu and very attentive, friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. I can highly recommend the halloumi fries and rotisserie chicken, everyone said their meal was lovely and hot with lots of flavour. We will be back.

Signature South Indian Restaurant & Drinks -

Rating: 4.3 /5
Kwok Lau Stepping into Signature Indian on Mount Ephraim in Tunbridge Wells feels like crossing a threshold into the vibrant culinary landscape of South India. While the local area boasts many excellent curry houses, Signature Indian distinguishes itself by offering a menu deeply rooted in the traditions of the Southern states, and in doing so, delivers a truly unique and exceptional dining experience. The service is attentive and clearly knowledgeable, making great recommendations for those unfamiliar with true South Indian specialities. However, the real stars of the show are undoubtedly the dosas. If you visit Signature Indian and dont order a dosa, you are missing out on their true signature dish. These vast, delicate crepes, made from fermented rice and lentil batter, arrive at the table as impressive, golden-brown scrolls that practically demand attention. I opted for the classic Masala Dosa, and it was perfection—crisp and wafer-thin on the outside, light and slightly spongy towards the centre, and filled with a perfectly seasoned, fluffy potato mash. The accompanying sides—the warm, savoury sambar and the trio of freshly made, intensely flavoured chutneys (especially the sharp coconut chutney)—elevated the dish from a simple pancake to a complex, satisfying meal. Beyond the dosas, the rest of the menu maintains the same standard, focusing on freshness and aromatic spices over heavy cream or oil. The curries offer a fantastic depth of flavour and a pleasant heat that never overwhelms. Whether youre a connoisseur of regional Indian cuisine or simply looking for an Indian meal that breaks the mold of standard high street fare, Signature Indian is a mandatory visit. Its a genuine culinary treasure that brings the authentic taste of South India to the heart of Kent.
