1 /5 Aysan Farzanfar: I am genuinely shocked at how this restaurant has such high reviews.
Shiraz in Oxford was, without exaggeration, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had especially for an Iranian restaurant. The food was extremely greasy, poor quality, and in some cases undercooked. The meat had a mushy, unpleasant texture, and what was even more alarming was that all the meats had a strange, unnatural taste even the chicken.
On top of that, this place is severely overpriced for such terrible food. The salad was clearly old and not fresh at all, as if it had been prepared long before and simply served to us. The kebabs were awful: no real flavour, poorly cooked, and honestly disgusting. Portion sizes were ridiculously small for the price, offering absolutely no value for money.
We chose this restaurant purely because of the high ratings, but the reality was the complete opposite. This was not just disappointing it was an insult to Iranian cuisine.
I will not be returning and would strongly advise others to avoid this place.
