5 /5 Elaine Forster: Set in the lovely town of West Malling close to the M20 so very easy to get to. This restaurant was a delightful find. The food is delicious and well priced. We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit and will definitely return. The manager Kate gives a warm welcome to customers and ensures, through her passion, that her young team are attentive and friendly. Great atmosphere evident. The chefs produce superb, tasty dishes that are well presented. Sunday lunch was delicious. The beef tender and generous in portion size. Roast potatoes, crispy and hot. Gravy that was replenished to accommodate those who like a lot. Lovely Yorkshire pudding. A real treat and relaxed meal enjoyed.

5 /5 Max Whitehead Munoz: A truly special restaurant. I went on a Wednesday night, and the atmosphere was great. Despite a busy restaurant, the team were really attentive and welcoming, with the food arriving without any delays. And thank God, because everything we ordered was superb, beautifully presented, and delicious – we wanted more and more. We were seated in the restaurant area, but the recently renovated bar area looked equally inviting, especially if youre after a more relaxed vibe: a cocktail or a couple of small plates. That said, if you get the opportunity to try the ALC menu, do it. You will not be disappointed.

4 /5 Lora Ryan: We visited the restaurant yesterday and had a bit of a mixed experience. The food was truly amazing — huge compliments to the kitchen staff. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the quality of the dishes really stood out. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. When we arrived, we did feel welcome and initially enjoyed the experience. However, once the restaurant became busy, the front-of-house staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. We ordered another round of drinks that never arrived, even after waiting around 20 minutes. When I went to pay, there were items on the bill that we hadn’t ordered, which added to the frustration. The manager asked why we weren’t staying for dessert, but after waiting so long just for drinks that never came, we didn’t feel like waiting again for our dessert order to be taken. I also noticed that several other tables received their food before their drinks and had to ask staff about them. Some nearby tables waited quite a long time just to place their orders. It seemed like the front-of-house team was slammed with many guests arriving at the same time, which likely contributed to the issues. Despite the service problems, I am definitely planning to come back for the great food and am hoping that next time the service will be better.

We booked the tasting menu for a special occasion but the service was extremely slow and the atmosphere felt tense and passive aggressive rather than welcoming. The website advertises wine pairings with the tasting menu, but on arrival we were told they were not available because the “wine menu is transitioning”. If that’s the case, the website should be updated. The biggest issue was the waiting time: we waited one hour (!) between the bread basket and the first starters, and drinks were also delayed until we asked about them. Because of the slow service we ended up rushing through the rest of the menu and even skipping some dishes. We were changed for the full menu though. Food was decent but nothing special (the duck breast was quite dry). We spent about 2.5 hours there mostly waiting for food and drinks. Very disappointing, especially for a special occasion. We also left feedback on the website and never received a response.
