slurp tea Excellent a local clean Pret, as I have so many food allergy and intolerances, Pret is excellent for me. Freshly made daily, decent tasty food and drinks. Always drinking hot fresh coffee! Food heaven for me. Very pleased to have one here. Had a problem at one point but the staff sorted it out for me quickly and friendly, no questions asked. I return here often now.

Lisa C Stopped in to watch the darts championship, as we could see it on the TV when we drove by. The crowd was merry and the fire in the bar hearth was cozy on the chilly night. Pool tables in the other room were well played. Kitchen was closed, but I would happily return.

VP The restaurant inside the mansion is a real gem. The dishes are delicious, beautifully presented, and served quickly—perfect for both relaxed meals and special occasions. For larger gatherings, I’d recommend making a reservation in advance. The team is very accommodating and will help organize everything smoothly, ensuring the experience feels effortless and enjoyable. What makes this place even more special is the setting: the restaurant is located in a charming winter greenhouse, inspired by the famous Crystal House. Dining here feels like stepping into a unique blend of history and elegance. There’s also a cozy bar where food is served, making it a great spot to unwind with a drink or enjoy a lighter bite. Altogether, it’s a must-visit part of the mansion experience.

Mark Chatfield As a member of the RU Squash Club Vets team, I have been attending the pub pretty much ever other Monday night for the last 3 years. The food is good & the beer is better, served by friendly, inviting staff who go above & beyond to make you welcome.

Adam Leach We have been wanting to visit the pub for a long time but then it shut down. With it re-opening with the new owners, we took the opportunity to visit. We went on a Saturday lunch time and it was moderately busy with people both inside and outside. The inside has a traditional pub feel and vibe. The outside has a larger beer garden and playground for any children. There is a large lawn area for kids to run around or for people to sit if the weather is nice. We had mains and deserts and all of the food was fantastic. The portion sizes were generous and everything we had was tasty. The price was very reasonable for the area. The menu had around 6-7 starters, mains and deserts which meant it was easy to choose something with all the dishes being cooked fresh. I hate pubs that have huge menus. Service was good but it could be improved. Most of the staff were very young and they did try hard. It was just the little things that needed brushing up e.g. bringing spoons with hot drinks etc. so nothing major. Overall we were all very impressed and we will be back again. I would really like to try their Sunday roast. To everyone at Jekyll and Hyde, well done, you have a cracking pub.
