huseyin tapanci Had a wonderful dinner with my family at Spitiko on Prospect Street. The food was delicious, portions were generous, and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Definitely a place we’d love to visit again—highly recommended!

Alison Dennis I purchased lunch here yesterday, 6/3/26, with work colleagues. Id not been to this location before. It was easy to order, food was quick and served by cheerful staff. You can add the toppings and sauce of your choice, which is great. Its expensive, at around £20-24 for a burger, fries and a drink, but portion sizes are extremely generous. I certainly didnt want dinner! The dine in area was clean and there was plenty of seating for a lunchtime. We took our food back to work due to traffic, and the food stayed hot for the 10 minute journey back. The burger was really good and exactly as Id requested. Fries (skin on) were hot and tasty. I would definitely recommend the food here however, as I calorie count, sadly I wont be a regular visitor.

james jones We booked a Christmas meal for a party of four, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was nothing short of fantastic. A huge thank you to Paul and his team for making our festive celebration so special. We’ll definitely be back!

Rashid I have been here twice & ordered Americano & carrot cake, it was wonderful & tasted fresh! The service was great & prices are on par with Costa & other cafes in the area. staff are kind & my coffee was prompt, but this may depends on the crowd, I was the only lucky one there this morning. Overall, I will definitely visit again ☕️

suki ng Whittington Tea Barge is very popular among people in Reading, and after joining their monthly 2-hour river cruise I can see why it has such a good reputation. The whole experience felt very special. The weather was warm and not windy, which made it perfect for cruising along the River Thames. With only 12 people on board, it was calm, friendly, and never crowded — a very personal experience compared to bigger boat trips. At the time of boarding, I was served the tea set. The handmade scones were fresh and delicious, and the service was good and welcoming throughout. The tea set also included sandwiches, desserts, and a choice of coffee or tea — all well prepared, nicely presented, and filling. It felt like the perfect balance between a traditional English tea and a relaxed river journey. Afterwards, I went up to the top deck. If the weather is good, I highly recommend sitting outside — the views of the River Thames are absolutely amazing and it is such a peaceful way to spend the afternoon. The whole cruise was very well organised, with enough time to enjoy both the food and the scenery without feeling rushed. For future visitors, it’s worth knowing that the river cruise only runs once a month and you need to reserve in advance as spaces are limited. On normal weekends, the barge stays in its usual spot on the river and serves a special weekend menu, so you can still enjoy eating on the boat even if there is no cruise that day. Overall, this was a wonderful and memorable experience — great food, friendly service, and beautiful river views. A lovely way to spend a couple of hours by the water in Reading. Highly recommended!

E T In our evening attempt without booking, it was so quick to give us a table and starting with a drink straight away. I am going to this restaurant quite a lot and I havent seen any downwards in their service. I highly recommend it. Their outdoor sitting area in summer is very popular. Make sure to reserve your table for a meal on busy weekends or Christmas/new years eve. Its absolutely suitable for birthday gathering.
