5 /5 Neel Dwala: Beautiful historic pub, warmly welcomed, super comfy, loved the fireplace. Everything felt just right, from the service to the food to the lodgings to the bedding! We were lucky enough to spend the night for my mother’s birthday - we had a superb dinner, homemade crisps were exquisite as was the treacle bread and cultured butter. The rooms were equally wonderful, very comfortable, even some lovely welcome cookies. Breakfast in the morning was delicious - the granola and blackberry was out of this world, and the poached cacklebean eggs are simply the best. Finished off with a lovely flat white coffee lovingly made, 10/10 ! I must say an extra thanks to Rachel - her warmth and attentiveness made our experience truly special. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for - a huge thank you to her and the entire team for such a memorable stay - we can’t wait to return!

5 /5 Sheena Mac: Absolutely loved our stay here. Very welcoming staff, lovely rooms & great food. The rooms are larger than average BnB rooms and have unique features. Beautiful quality bedding, the biggest & fluffiest towels and nice toiletries provided. Our evening meal was stunning - absolutely delicious with a few extra amuse bouche bits as tasters too. A little pricey but well worth it. The bar is warm and cosy, nice seating and a snug with a fire. It was very quiet (nice for us) and if we lived locally, it would definitely be a "go to" for us. Special mention for Joe who made us feel very welcome and did a great job looking after us.

1 /5 Oscar Ford: I had high hopes for Killingworth Castle restaurant as we looked for a nice lunch venue in the Cotswolds with for my partner and parents. Unfortunately, I was made to feel extremely unwelcome and judged. I am vegan and noted on the website at time of booking that they dont cater to food intolerances. Vegan diets arent an intolerance: I wont keel over if I drink cows milk, I just choose not to. So as with virtually every restaurant Ive ever eaten in, I had assumed theyd be able to adjust e.g. their risotto to be suitable. It is also very difficult to find obviously vegan friendly restaurants in the Cotswolds, so Id hoped this place would work. The staff made zero attempt to even consider it. I was told "nothing is suitable for you" at our table. Effectively I was asked to leave, unless I wanted to sit and watch the 2 meat eaters in our group have their lunch and eat nothing myself. I completely understand a restaurant teams right to serve what they like, but to make a guest feel so unwelcome, by not only the junior waiter but also Jim the owner, is a crime in the hospitality industry. Such a shame for what is a cosy restaurant with a lot of promise. I suggested they stick a "vegans are not welcome here" note on their website instead of a vague note about not catering to allergies or intolerances. I was delighted in the end not to give Jim any of my money - I ended up in the extremely friendly and accommodating hands of the team at The Swan Inn in Islip.

5 /5 Georgia Kaufmann: They above and beyond dealing with all our complex dietary requirements. It was deeply appreciated. The food was delicious, the turbot was the best fish Ive had since eating turbot for the first time in Mount St Michel nearly 50 years ago. So glad we escaped Oxford to get such wonderful food. Service was charming and thoughtful. Lovely restaurant, great food. Thank you.

5 /5 Georgie Kivell: We had an amazing meal here, everything from the treacle bread to the roast and dessert was delicious and dishes had unexpected elements which really elevated them (not just for the sake of it!). Our group travelled from London and Surrey and it was well worth the drive. Brilliant service and beautiful cosy interiors. Catered well to kids too.
