5 /5 Cody: Had lunch at The Midyeci Bar today and honestly it was one of those meals that hits the spot without you even planning for it. I was just looking for something filling and ended up getting the shish kebab with a portion of rice and salad. Pretty standard order, but they actually did it really well.
The kebab came out super fresh, tender, and had that proper charred taste without being dry. You know when the meat is cooked just right and you don’t have to fight with it? Yeah, it was like that. The rice was fluffy and had that nice buttery vibe without being greasy, which I really appreciated. And the salad was simple but fresh — crunchy veggies, nothing soggy or sad-looking, which I feel like happens too often at some places.
The overall vibe of the place was chill and very “Turkish street food but indoors,” if that makes sense. Nothing pretentious. The staff were relaxed but still helpful, not overdoing it with check-ins. It’s the kind of spot where you can sit down for a proper meal but also just pop in quick without it feeling weird.
