5 /5 Martin Whitlock: We had a lovely meal with a large group of Friends. The pub is perfect for meeting up with friends and family in a warm and cosy environment. The service we attentive, friendly and relaxed. The food was very good, I highly recommend the duck leg - simply wonderful. Overall, its not the easiest place to get to if youre not local, but it is well worth the journey.

4 /5 Tony Staal: Sunday lunch was okay, but I feel it could have been better. My roasties (i believe) were from the end of the tray and only bits of potatos, and there wasnt enough gravy. Apart from that it all tasted nice enough and the service was very friendly and attentive.

3 /5 Anthony Conning: We loved the area — the location is great. Unfortunately, there were a few issues with Room 202. The boiler was quite noisy and kept us awake. The bathroom, especially the WC and shower, needs a deep clean or updating as there was mould, which made it uncomfortable to use. It would also be nice to have a bottle of water in the room, as I woke up during the night needing a drink and wasn’t sure if the tap water was safe. The pub itself was lovely, and the food and staff were fantastic. However, because of the room issues, we probably wouldn’t stay again.

2 /5 Ella Tully: I went for the Burns Night menu, the food and the service were both good, but the room in the pub was chilly, another diner did not take off her puffer jacket. The radiator closest to me was almost cold, I asked if the heating could be turned up but was told they were unable to. Apart from the food there was no other indications in the room that it was Burns Night weekend - no tartan decorations, no music (except when in the ladies), nothing and that resulted in very little atmosphere in the room. I will not go back for a themed night, there’s no point.
