Robert Jesse Second time being there and the restaurant never disappoints! Drinks and food were good — I did try the rabbit, wasn’t expecting the fried texture but the inside was delicious. I was hoping for a birthday dessert since I mentioned in the booking that we were celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday, but overall I’ll definitely go there again!

Rico Razzo Really great Japanese food - the gyoza were plump, crisp, and oozing with flavour and a delicious sauce. The prawn tempura was spectacular - really light crisp batter and succulent prawns, properly good. Fennel and cucumber salad was good, fresh, but perhaps a little over-priced for the size of the portion. All round great though and definitely worth stopping by.

Chi Man Chan If youre in Deptford, you absolutely have to try this place! My first experience with Caribbean food at this restaurant was incredibly impressive. The Food: Authentic & Great Value I tried the Oxtail and Curry Goat for the first time, and both were outstanding. The flavors were deep and perfectly soaked into the meat, which had a great texture—tender but still with a satisfying "bite." Everything felt very fresh and clean, and the portions offered amazing value for money. Atmosphere & Service: Friendly & Professional The staff were very friendly and patient, making me feel welcome as a first-timer. I also noticed that the kitchen was very clean and organized, which is always reassuring. Even on a Tuesday afternoon, there were many young locals waiting for their food, which gave me the confidence that this is a true neighborhood favorite. Coming to Deptford, you must try the famous Caribbean cuisine, and I truly believe the food here is as authentic as it gets—just like in Jamaica. Highly recommended!

SALT Deptford - Lewisham

REG Interesting toilet situation at SALT Deptford. The toilets, once I imagine not unisex, now are. This didnt impact on their functionality though. They seemed to work fine. The pint I had here was quite nice also, they had a range of other drinks available and also pizza. Ive had a pizza here in the past and although it hasnt stuck in my mind as a glowing example (see D4100, Crisp W6) it wasnt particularly bad. Probably ok to good. Nicely done out interior here too.

Chaconia - Lewisham

Oliver Yung Ever so often, one craves that hearty, honest meal and for me, that’s Chaconia, a Trinidadian restaurant at the heart of Deptford. The simple and clean store front veils the rich and exciting flavours that belie. I ordered the chicken curry and rice and was persuasively nudged by a fellow diner to try the goat curry instead; fortunately, the most generous proprietress indulged my gustatory fancies and offered me a small side of that. It was a plate of absolute joy - both curries had distinct flavours and the meats were perfectly stewed, retaining their structure while being succulent to the bite. The rice was well flavoured and was the perfect accompaniment to those rich curries. At £5, this was an absolute steal. I’ll be back.
