Jeronimo Aguilar Gutierrez A hidden gem. Primeur is one of those rare places where the moment you walk in, you feel like you’ve been invited to a beautifully orchestrated dinner party. The communal table setup creates an intimate yet unpretentious energy—it’s lively without ever feeling crowded, and perfect for both conversation and appreciation of the food. The menu was a journey in itself: seasonal, smart, and absolutely satisfying. Every bite felt thoughtful—simple ingredients elevated to something extraordinary. The team strikes that perfect balance between warm attentiveness and relaxed confidence. You get the sense they care deeply—not just about the food, but about your entire experience. A culinary delight through and through.

Jason Locke Delicious, honest food that appears superbly authentic. I was one of the few non-Chinese speakers to order. I watched the cooks make my noodles fresh to create my spicy stew with pork meatballs. I asked for medium spice — which was almost too much for me but still outstanding. This is an excellent place to grab a healthy lunch.

Allison Eason We visited as a family of four, for the first time and had a lovely experience. We received a very warm welcome, not just from the staff but from the local customers, who clearly frequent the pub often and are very passionate about the village and their local pub. It was such a pleasure to share their stories. The food we had was fantastic! The scotch egg starter was a delight, as were the scallops. Our steaks were beautifully cooked and the sauces we added were lovely. We also had the carrot cake cheesecake and the chocolate tart for dessert, both were excellent. The cheesecake is not as you would expect it to be. It is deconstructed and a softer texture than you would usually have but my husband said it tasted lovely and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was great throughout. We visited on a Saturday and hadn’t booked but ate late afternoon and so we were able to get a table for food but if going at busy times you have to book in advance as it is very popular. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be returning in the future.

Abi Green Had the best birthday meal. The waitresses was named Aga. The most friendliest waitress I’ve had here in the longest time. most helpful and full of smiles. Made the end of my birthday feel special. Will defo come back to celebrate special occasions. Thank you :)

oliwia ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Open Bakery is, without exaggeration, the best bakery I have ever been to in the UK and I genuinely don’t think anything will ever come close. I lived in Brighton for a year and I was literally living right in front of it, in a flat across the street. It became part of my week and I still think about it all the time. The pastries are so unreal that I don’t even have a single photo… because the second I walked in, I couldn’t even consider taking my phone out. Everything was eaten immediately. That’s how good it was. The atmosphere inside is perfect, warm, cosy, inviting, and just the kind of place that instantly makes you happy. And the staff are genuinely some of the friendliest people ever. It’s not just a bakery, it feels like a little Brighton treasure. They have incredible bread and so many other bakes, but I have to mention my favourite pastry of all time: the chocolate and almond croissant. I am not joking when I say I still dream about it. Flaky, rich, indulgent, perfect in every possible way. I would travel back to Brighton purely to eat it again. I live in the North now, and I swear there is simply nothing up here that compares. And honestly… if Open Bakery would ever ship so far, I will be the first person placing an order 100%! Brighton people don’t realise how lucky they are.
