2 /5 Beth Robinson: Service was slow and then our bill got given to another table after waiting ages for it to turn up.
The food itself was fine— we could see a lot of effort was put into the presentation, but it was a bit expensive for what it was.
Lovely spot to sit and have a break with a coffee though.
5 /5 James Ward: Nice food and friendly service. We arrived on a sunny, warm day. With drinks, it came to just over £20 per person. Very reasonable.
5 /5 dan g: A charming outdoor cafe serving great food. Friendly, attentive service. Lovely atmosphere. The food was good, my only slight criticism is that the salad was slightly too heavy on the dressing, but otherwise it was great. Harvey’s beer of course - what else in Lewes.
5 /5 Jon Anderson: We had a delicious brunch time snack at the cafe du jardin. The entrance way is unassuming but dont let that fool you, this rustic restaurant serves delicious bites and thirst quenching drinks in a relaxed and informal French cafe style both outdoor and indoor tables and believe me this place gets busy. Our server, Albie was an absolute gem, he worked hard to ensure no one was waiting, very attentive and capable. As you can see from my photos the food is excellent. However I wished I had ordered one of the tasting plates as they look fantastic.
RJS An amazing evening and dinner service at this great little gem in Lewes.
The team were attentive, the food was stunning and we had a lovely time post meal in the bar too, following a chat with the head chef who was clearly passionate about creating a fabulous experience.
We can’t wait until our next visit and we will be dreaming about the gnocchi!
Mel g Had a lovely visit to The Brasserie. Wonderful service with a smile (and a pinch of humour). Food was tasty and good portions. The atmosphere was very nice, with rays of sunshine cascading through the roof sunlights.
Yoon Kris (CAPPU’S PAPA) The food was quite average — not amazing, but not bad either.
It’s a good place to come when there aren’t many lunch options around.
It was nicely presented and felt clean and tidy, which I liked.
Jacqui Wallis We have visited several times as a family. We have enjoyed amazing Sunday roasts. My son enjoyed a steak burger, I loved the salad with goats cheese, we had the special of mussels and we really enjoyed some oysters. Really excellent quality food, reasonably priced, friendly atmosphere, dog friendly. Highly recommend.
Lee Bowler This is a beautiful old pub that serves excellent beers and the best pizza you will find anywhere around here (Pats Pizza). The bar staff are very much on the ball, welcoming, knowledgeable, kind and funny. I’ve now made this my local as a newbe to Lewes. The front bar is small and cosy AF but there is loads of space at the back bar and in the fire place room. They also have an upstairs and a great terrace at the back for times of good weather. This is a must spot if you are coming to Lewes.
