1 /5 Liam McAllister: So, well, where do I start - I was excited to try this new spot as I was driving past it everyday while they were renovating. Placed an order through the phone and was struggling to understand the person on the phone. I asked if any of the meals I ordered came with rice and I receive a reply of “yeah sure why not”, where’s the relevance?? I know it’s hard to find the right staff but managers, owners, why aren’t staff being trained properly?
Upon arriving at the restaurant I noticed the kitchen full of staff, 2 of them in suits. 1 of them from the tiktok videos on the dawat page where the annoyingly over exaggerated lady speaks. I would have expected him to atleast smile and welcome a customer as, as I think he is the face of this branch? Just a straight face with no acknowledgment from him. A simple hello how are you can benefit a customers first impression of a business.
I’m 100% sure you don’t need teaching on service but come on guys a newly restuarant/takeaway with a lot of money spent on you can atleast show some warmth to new comers from the local area.
Waited for my order to be bagged, props to the young chef who was cooking, he was helping directing staff with which boxes to bag and cooking at the same time.
Waiting to pay with the cash in my hand on the counter and I get passed a card machine? You can clearly see the cash in my hand…
Waited a minute for my change, the mid aged man was struggling to work the till and calculate my change, he put the change in the little cheque booklet with the receipt, I would have preferred to be given my change in my hand rather than being put in a booklet to open and picking out the change 1 by 1 (just inconvenience for the customer). If I was a sitting in customer then I would understand this method.
Got home, opened my special mix grill box to find a chicken wing missing (not bothered), however, the quality and quantity of the food was rather inconsistent and appalling.
As you can see from the pictures, the chicken wing meat/bone was pink, and no this is not from the marination. The sizes of the pieces is embarrassing, the chicken was cut so small it’s as big as the onion pieces included. Some of the chicken was tough and chewy, this is signs of hard rubbery chicken which are cheap to buy. The bigger lamb chop piece was reasonable but they counted the miniature one next to it as a piece, if it’s that small you sure should include another smaller piece to make up for it. As for the kofta/seekh kebab, a foreign object/material was inside of it, a hair maybe? You can decide for yourselves. Curry was drenched in oil, I’d understand using a certain amount of oil or butter but this is literally swimming.
As typically please do not ask me to get in touch to discuss further. Use your expertise to fault finding/troubleshooting solving these issues.
I understand this is a new branch but you have the biggest and most established branches in other areas. Need to step up big time with this one guys - owners please take action…
