5 /5 Richard John: I love Ferros Fish and Chips! I live in South Norwood, so it takes two buses to get there, but is worth the trip! It is the place I choose to eat in for fish and chips, more than any other. Today was my 70th. birthday, so one of my sisters and I met up there to celebrate that. You always get a friendly welcome, and are asked how you are, they listen carefully to your requests and order, which comes pretty quickly, and tastes as if cooked from fresh. The fish is lovely, white - not the yellow fish with a tang to it that you sometimes get elsewhere. The batter is great, an attractive colour and thin, not thick batter that tastes of fat, and the chips are lovely, not overcooked, with potato inside (!), i.e. not French fries, or thin cooking chips. If you go for large fish and large chips, they both meet the description! (you can also get Senior Cod and Chips, for a good price, for those with smaller appetites. I have had it several times myself). The atmosphere is friendly, the service good, and when I mentioned that it was my 70th. birthday as I was leaving, they called me back and gave me a gift of rice pudding to take home!! If you are in West Wickham doing your shopping etc., and want a rest and a nice meal, then try out Ferros. I think you will be glad that you did.
