The fish was beautifully fresh, light, and flaky, wrapped in a crisp golden batter that crackled perfectly with every mouthful. The chips were everything you hope for — hot, fluffy on the inside, and cooked just right, the kind that instantly feels familiar and comforting. There’s something about Cath’s cooking that makes you feel looked after. This wasn’t just fish and chips, it was proper food done with care, the kind that brings a smile and makes you feel at home. 4 /5 Richard Walton: Its a Green King pub, but unlike any youve seen before. The place is small and feels a little cramped. There is nothing on optic, so youll have to trust the bar staff have got it right. You can order from thr table using the app which is dangerous as youll end up spending more than you initially thought you would.

The mac and cheese was pure indulgence, creamy, cheesy, and perfectly balanced, the ultimate comfort dish that you can’t help but keep going back to. And then there were the burgers — seven of them, each one cooked to perfection. Juicy, full of flavour, and done just right, they were a real crowd-pleaser and disappeared fast for a reason. Everything came out hot, generous, and made with such care, you could tell Cath puts her heart into every plate. This wasn’t just a selection of small plates, it was the perfect Friday feel-good feast. Food that brings people together, signals the start of the weekend, and makes you feel completely at home. Cath’s cooking never misses — comforting, hearty, and absolutely five-star.
