Brown Eagle -
Maria Chery Update 5th July 2025
Oh how the service has dropped. We waited ages just the 2 of us at the tallest counter ever: my friends hair just peeping over it. I ordered ackee and salt fish with rice and peas it was delicious and asked whether we could sit in to eat, hoping for table service. I was told yes by the male server but I later found as I only ordered a regular that I had to pay £1 extra to eat in. I didnt have a problem but it doesnt say on their menu. I would have paid £16.50 large instead of £14.50 regular to have my food served at table on a plate with cutlery. Uber orders took priority, other regular customers served before my friend, felt ignored, like unwanted customers, theyre doing us a favour. Another friend came in, was overlooked as well as her order was take away. I like buying from my culture but this service is appalling not sure I wont be back ...

We attended Brown Eagle on Saturday 22nd July 2023 whilst attending Courage Womens conference. The restaurant was clean and inviting and fortunately for us only drivers were waiting for orders. We were warmly greeted and asked what we would like. Unfortunately, no hot drinks were available but they have a good variety of cold beverages - some homemade. I ordered curry goat, rice and peas that came with salad. Coleslaw is extra. My food was well presented on a large plate, a good value for money portion. It tasted like my mums curry and that takes some beating. A definite 5 star eating experience I would recommend. Thank you- it made our after conference session a little uncomfortable as I wanted to sleep it off.
