1 /5 Tanya Yao: Visited on a weekday before 2pm with two friends — three mums with three sleeping infants in prams. The restaurant was almost empty, with only one couple finishing up when we arrived.
The waitress herself was polite, but a woman who appeared to be the manager/owner made the experience extremely uncomfortable from the start. We were initially told we could come in only if we left the babies outside, which is obviously impossible. After we explained this, she reluctantly allowed us to stay and began rearranging furniture dragging chairs back and forth even the ones far from where we were supposed be sitting, and creating loud noises despite clearly seeing that all three babies were asleep.
To be fair if she can’t accommodate us and told us to go, I would appreciate this. But she wanted our money but decided not to treat us with courtesy was unacceptable. Fair enough if was not a giant restaurant but it had a space for good 20 covers or so, especially when it was so empty. Even with the 2 buggies there they could have easily accommodated other guests if there were any at all.
Once seated, one of us was still deciding what to order, so we placed an order for two dishes first. We were then told, in a dismissive manner, that three people could not order only two dishes. When we explained the situation, she kind of rolled her eyes, which upset my friend enough that she decided to leave. As we had already paid, the rest of us stayed.
The situation became even more unpleasant when the music was suddenly turned up loudly — again, despite there being no other guests and sleeping infants present.
Food quality was also disappointing. The bibimbap took longer than expected and arrived with a small portion and rice that was cold and hard. They used a giant bowl though. My £11.50 bowl was far below expectations.
The young waitress must have felt the awkward vibe and kept coming to ask if things were ok. She is sweet. It’s a shame she had to work alongside some one like that.
Overall, the lack of basic courtesy and consideration completely overshadowed the visit. Unfortunately, this was a very uncomfortable experience and not somewhere I would return.
