H L-J Ive been eating at Afghan Flavours, Reading for circa 18 months now. I was introduced by my sisters friend and have kept coming back on my own, with a my sister or in small groups. Its very reliable, tasty, fresh and hot food. Family friendly. Very reasonably priced for the quality and freshness. You can see the kitchen from the counter too. Other reviews mentioning service speed need to show some patience. Freshly cooked and prepared food takes time and this is an increasingly popular establishment. I would describe as cafe style eating. Whether its the Channa Daal, Houmous, halloumi, chicken byriani, Qabuli chicken/lamb, chicken/lamb charsi karahi, Afghan style red kidney beans, Chaplin kebab paties, chicken or lamb or mixed tikka or lamb kofta - I recommend all. For drinks would recommend mint or green tea (loose tea) or mango lassi (glass or jug) or a fresh juice. I prefer to eat in, but take away is also available. A friendly and hardworking team. Thank you for your quality food and service.

M Palmer This place has got to become a staple for me! Excellent food, made fresh in front of you, and was easy to order. The free toppings station is a bonus, considering so many restaurants these days charge extra for sauces. Lovely atmosphere and very affordable food, especially with blue light discount and being part of the free ‘marugame club’. It’s also fantastic if you’re on a calorie deficit as the portions are very generous whilst being fairly low in calories and high in protein. I got the regular beef nikutame udon and had to take half of it home as it was so filling! (Takeaway pots are easy to help yourself to next to the toppings section). Would recommend to anyone!

Scott Mcwilliam I had such a wonderful experience here, even dining on my own. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly attentive and genuinely friendly, making me feel very welcome and comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious - full of flavour and clearly made with care. The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and inviting, which made it such a lovely place to sit and enjoy a meal solo. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this Thai restaurant to anyone.

The atmosphere was wonderfully relaxing, and my family had a truly enjoyable evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would love to return. Dhanu Prashant (PD) The front-of-house staff (Parya and Ermioni) were friendly and welcoming. We loved their mixed grill — definitely a must-try.

Charlotte Bramanis What an amazing addition to Broad Street vendors. Figured Id give this a go instead of an overpriced pre-heated dessert from the restaurant I was at, and so glad I did. The waffle on a stick was A-MAZE-ING. Well worth the money! I spoke to the owner while our fresh waffles were being made; theyve only been there a couple of weeks and still getting organised, that being said, the small waffle selection at the moment is worth going to try!
