What Clients Are Saying Selekt Chicken Holloway (GG)
5 /5 Ali Haidar Ontor: One of the best places to eat around Holloway Road, especially if you’re studying at London Metropolitan University. The staff are genuinely helpful and guide you through the menu, and you can even request your food just the way you like it. The place is clean, cosy, and perfect for a quick meal or a relaxed break between classes.
5 /5 Rij: Just visited Selekt Chicken and I’m already planning my next trip. The vibe in here is chef’s kiss – warm lighting, comfy seating, and a buzz that feels lively but not overwhelming. Perfect for a casual catch-up or a relaxed dinner.
The staff were incredible too – super friendly, attentive without being pushy, and really knowledgeable about the menu. They even gave me a great recommendation for a side I’d never tried before.
And let’s talk about the food! Juicy, perfectly seasoned chicken with crispy skin that didn’t go soggy – exactly how it should be. Sides were fresh and full of flavor, and everything came out hot and quick.
Couldn’t fault a single thing. Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious chicken in a fantastic setting!
5 /5 Sajid Khan: The food was fresh, tasty, and well-cooked. The chicken burger was juicy with a nice crunch, the fries were perfectly golden, and the fried chicken was crispy outside and tender inside. Portions were generous and the meal went perfectly with a cold Coke. Great value and definitely worth coming back
Highly recommended

The staff are friendly, welcoming, and quick to take orders, even during busy times, which really shows their professionalism. Food is prepared promptly without feeling rushed, and the team is always happy to help with recommendations or special requests.
MADDOGLEP I think this must be fairly new as I have no recollection of this pub / restaurant. Thomas Paine has strong local connections, unlike Casta and Madge. He helped inspire the American revolutionary war and almost lost his head in the French one. Silly so and so. I had another Harveys Sussex best bitter. One of three real ales on my visit. Very good. Up steep stairs finds a roof terrace. Must be lovely on a warm sunny day / evening. Free wifi.
Caroline Pepper Tom our waiter, was wonderful right from the initial greeting. We came for lunch with our baby, & our friends with two small kids also joined us. Tom was really thoughtful re the childrens needs, e.g. high chairs, offered to put pram in a safe place, he was just very warm & kind, and patient! Also - food was Delicious, recommend the calzone campagna. Grazie a tutti. Will be back!
Abigail Joseph Popped in here for drinks with a friend and couldn’t resist ordering a vegan platter as a takeaway. When I got home and started on the platter, I was blown away by all the amazing flavours, the softness of the injera and thrilled to see the generous portions. Would definitely recommend this place and I will be back again
jemma willis 1st time trying this new Japanese in lewes. We arrived at 8pm on a sunday. The food was incredible. Fresh and good portions. One of the most authentic Japanese meals we have had. The atmosphere is chilled, and the decor is authentic for Japanese restaurants. Simple and stylish. The waitress was so lovely and we chatted after the meal and even though we were late eating and they were closing, we never felt rushed at all. We also got complimentary mochi which was so kind of them. We will definitely be back regularly.
