5 /5 Arianna Soares: Shankeys never misses! I have been twice this year and would definitely say it is my top restaurant in 2025. The cauli cheese is out of this world! The service is also amazing with the staff being super attentive and always ensuring you are enjoying your meal. Prices are super reasonable and not overpriced even tho it is a small plates restaurant - which is super rare in London!
The only thing I did not enjoy the last 2 times I have been are the potatoes- they don’t take my fancy but that is just a personal preference!
I will be back soon!
5 /5 Michaela Pleskova: The cheese cauliflower paratha and potatoes were definitely a highlight, they are a staple while the rest of the menu changes regularly. For mains, the whole sea bream was delicious. We tried a few of their cocktails and especially enjoyed their unique takes on the margarita (with butter) and Negroni. Its a great spot for a date, and the staff is very nice. I definitely plan on returning soon to try more of their parathas. Its also reasonably priced.
5 /5 Fay S.: Haven’t rated a restaurant 5/5 in a while but Shankeys definitely deserved it.
The service was great, attentive quick and friendly.
The food was exceptional, we ordered everything on the menu as it was 5 of us and have to say the lamb paratha, the chicken and the fish were the highlight.
The dessert was too sweet and heavy, I would have served it with a sorbet as a opposed to a cream!
5 /5 Geoff Arnott: Dont be put off by the exterior - this is a really great little restaurant frequented by the people that know what a really chilled eating experience should be. The small plates are exceptionally good. A brilliant venue for a sharing meal with family or friends.
Great service in that special Irish way. Theyre happy to faff about with the menu to cater for gluten free people like me too.
Will Lewis This focaccia was unbelievable. Felt like I was in Rome. Great value & very generous with the ham/ cheeses. Nice garden area with seating/ sun. 5*.
Nikki Santiago Lovely spot - had brunch here and enjoyed the selections they had. Affordable as well which is a great feature. Smoked salmon was fantastic and got the pistachio cookie, highly recommend. Was busy when we got there around the early afternoon but wasn’t too long of a wait. We did have to sit out in the cold for a bit prior to having seats available inside. More available seating opened up around mid afternoon. Would come back again.
Younus Islam Had an excellent meal with the family at Aayat. Meat bhuna, chicken biryani and chicken noodles where some of the items ordered. The garlic naan was fluffy, slightly crispy and soft all at the same time. Service and ambience was very good. Would highly recommend the restaurant.
Gonzalo Murcia Great experience. One of the best taco places in London. My favourites the burrito (even the veggie one is so damn good!) and the loaded fries are banging! A true hidden gem in Hackney!
MB Lovely little boozer. Open 11am on Sundays. Pricey pint of Deya but where isnt it expensive these days. Looked like the whole place was booked out so clearly a popular spot - if youre going on a weekend Id recommend booking. Nice people, good vibes, will return.
Isabella Fernandes Filthy martini indeed! Fabulous cocktails, picklebacks and dinner. Staff were so lovely & chatty we had Becca, Joshua and met chef Joe at the end. Food delicious mix of flavours from brine to Asian sea inspired. Great vibe & busy on a Saturday evening. 10/10 recommend. We shall be back.
