2 /5 C G: We visited this restaurant as a party of two after reading many positive reviews, but unfortunately our experience fell far short of expectations.
The atmosphere is undeniably lovely, but the two most important aspects — service and food quality — were disappointing. Every dish we ordered lacked seasoning, spice, and depth of flavour. The food tasted unusually bland and didn’t resemble the Indian cuisine we’re familiar with. The meal came to around £40–£50, and although we did eat most of it, we left feeling let down.
Service felt lacklustre throughout. Staff seemed bored or demotivated, responses were short and quiet, and there was little warmth or friendliness. At the start, we had to work to get someone’s attention just to place our order, and at the end, the bill wasn’t brought over. When I went up to pay, the card machine was presented without explanation, and I had to ask for a breakdown of the bill.
After emailing the restaurant privately, they did refund £20, which we appreciated — it showed they at least tried to put things right. However, the overall experience was still disappointing given the potential this place clearly has.
