3 /5 Ali Kasim: Visited Shiraz for an authentic Afghani meal and had a really good experience overall. We sat in the private floor-seating section, which gives a great traditional atmosphere.
The Food:
We ordered the Family Mixed Grill and the taste was spot on. The meat and chicken were well-cooked, and although I’m not a big spice eater, the seasoning sprinkled on top was perfectly manageable and very flavorful. The rice was lovely and the Tandoori bread was served fresh and hot. We also tried the Mantu (meat dumplings), which were delicious.
Cleanliness & Comfort:
The seating area was generally clean and I didnt spot anything unusual. However, as a tip for the team, the cushions in the floor-seating area could use a deep vacuum/hoover more regularly to keep them fresh.
Suggestions for Improvement:
I have two suggestions that I think would really level up the experience:
Shoe Racks: It would be much better for hygiene and aesthetics if there were small shoe racks outside each private section. It would keep the walkway clear for staff to move freely and look much tidier.
Low Tables: While the floor cloth (Sufra) is traditional, it can be difficult for people who struggle to bend down. Adding small, low-profile tables (similar to Japanese style but with an Afghani look) would make dining more comfortable while keeping the traditional feel.
