1 /5 Gavin Harah: Food was terrible, very poor standards. Actually a cause for concern, I believe either the owner or council needs to take action on this. I had ordered a chicken biriyani & a samosa chat for takeaway for my lunch.
Biriyani was lacking in flavour, packet crispy onions used which I don’t really see the point in. Those things hold so much oil and go soggy in the container. Chicken was dreadful I could tell it was reheated from at least the day before. And lastly the oil. There is never any need to use that much oil in food, especially a biriyani. It’s actually very concerning and shows a clear lack of skill from the chefs, trying to compensate flavour for spicy oil. Incredibly unhealthy and quite frankly just quite gross. Entirely regretted this order.
Samosa chat. Also had a thick layer of oil here. However was more flavoursome than the biriyani. Once again though the same spicy red ish oil ran through this dish and made it really unpleasant. Using this much oil is completely unnecessary and is incredibly damaging for the area. Also I’m sure you would save your food cost because I can see at least 30p of my food cost is made up from pure oil…
Unfortunately I do not see myself dining here again, and I would recommend staying clear of this place is you value flavour or your health. I would love for the owner to see this and make some much needed adjustments to the recipes and menus. I would even offer to give you a hand with these adjustments personally.
And lastly I understand this must be a tough read, but unfortunately it is the truth. I would love to try the food at a later time and reconsider this review once things have changed. Lots of work to be done here.
Some positives: Guest seating area was clean, decent atmosphere. Man who took my order over the phone was nice.
