3 /5 Md: A very cosy interior and genuinely friendly staff, which makes it a pleasant place to spend time.
We ordered a few nibbles along with two mains.
Unfortunately, the hummus was quite disappointing — it didn’t taste freshly made, and the addition of a can of beetroot complete with its juice was an odd and unappealing choice. The halloumi fries, however, were much better.
My burger took a very long time to arrive, so I ended up taking it home. It was fine, but fairly basic, served in a standard bun, and didn’t feel worth the price.
The slow-roasted beef and ale pie, on the other hand, really saved the meal and was the standout dish.
Overall, it’s a lovely environment with a welcoming atmosphere, but the food feels overpriced for what’s offered.
