The Gurkha Palace Restaurant - (Near , london)

Heather We moved to Forest Gate about three months ago, and we’ve come here at every opportunity. Moving from Hackney we were spoilt for choice with natural wine bars but this place tops them all for atmosphere and choice! It’s a sun trap in good weather but I can see us coming for a cosy glass of wine in the winter. The pop up chef rotation means there’s always something new to try, but in between the Joyau team are cooking up delicious small plates (the cod’s roe is our favourite). We’ll be back time and time again!

Samantha Gurung Really nice green curry, it tasted really fresh and I was very impressed with the beef sandwich. We tried the fried ice cream for the novelty and were pleasantly surprised, it was still frozen in the inside and tasted really great! The owner was nice and had a lovely chat with us. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a nice quick lunch.

Paty Hohmann Great place for a lunch and if you’re lucky the weather will be nice enough to sit outside. Had the avocado on toast, latte and juice, all very delicious.

4062 H I love the food at Slim Chickens and this branch is great. Everything was made fresh and cooked perfectly. The buffalo sandwich is amazing, chips are great and the kids Mac n cheese is delicious! Very tasty wings too. I love the sauces and there are so many to choose from. The best thing about this place is how great the staff are. Very friendly and helpful! Great value for money when you consider the quality of the food and the generous portions.

From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly attentive and genuinely friendly, making me feel very welcome and comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious - full of flavour and clearly made with care. The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and inviting, which made it such a lovely place to sit and enjoy a meal solo. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this Thai restaurant to anyone.
