5 /5 Ivor Jefferies: Went here with a friend for a meal, New Years Day 2026, around 5pm.
Found a great table and seats tucked away in an unusual quirky recessed area in main bar area. Food was very good I thought, and a reasonable price by todays standards. I had the Lamb Shank, excellent, my friend had Hunters Chicken which looked good. Cherry crumble and custard was good too.
(Only slight minus was the house red wine. No idea what it was, was very sweet almost as if some sort of fruit juice had been mixed into it. Maybe just down to personal taste.)
Service was very quick and friendly, efficient staff.
Parking is easy in the council High Street car park behind Waitrose, just one minute walk from the rear door of the pub.
Yes, I would be happy to eat here again.
